Training

Saskatchewan  ATV Safety Training offers the Canada Safety Council Riders Courses for all levels of ATV/UTV and Snowmobile Riders. Ken Matechuk is a certified instructor for the Canada Safety Council  and is a registered Chief instructor for both ATV and UTV Training.  Ken  has been teaching the  Riders Course since 2003 and has  taught over 500 riders to date.

The ATV/UTV and Snowmobile Riders Course is a 5.5 hour to 7 hour training program. This course gets the students into the field and allows them to demonstrate and improve their skills in a very controlled environment.

There is both a class room session and a hands-on practical training session.

Upon successful completion the student will be issued Canada Safety Council Certification which will comply with local Occupational Health and Safety training requirements that operate Canada wide.

The following are some of the topics covered:

  • Safe riding practices and strategies
  • Quick stops and swerving
  • Pre-ride inspections
  • Riding over obstacles
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Traversing hills
  • Turning basics
  • sharp turns
  • quick turns

You must wear the proper riding gear at all times during training. Bring the following:

  • DOT-compliant helmet
  • Goggles or face shield
  • Over-the-ankle boots
  • Proper fitting Gloves
  • Long pants
  • Long sleeve shirt or jacket

Ken Matechuk is one of the most active Canada Safety Council Instructors in Southern Saskatchewan since 2003.

He is willing to work with you, if you have a group of 4-8 employees that need certification and will come out to your location and provide training at a suitable site and save the expense to your company of sending staff to another location.
